OUR PROGRAM

Train With Us

AJ Performance Horses is a rope horse training facility. We train all aspects of rope horses but will also train for other prospective fields. Training can be from the ground up or maybe just a horse that needs a tune up, we can help you.

It is our goal to ensure every horse has a solid foundation. We start horses slow to ensure they have confidence in what we are asking them to do. Once horses have that foundation in place we will start on the next level and adding speed. When the horse is ready we will take them to jackpots to start seasoning them. We like taking horses “full circle” so owners are confident when they pick up their horse they can head to the jackpot with ease.

Our program includes outside horses, sale horses, futurity horses, and personal horses. A big goal for our program is to supply quality horses to top tier consignment horse sales, such as Rancho Rio, Hershberger Performance Horse Sale, and Clovis Horse Sale, just to name a few. Rope Horse Futurities are a big priority for our program, as that is where AJ’s true passion lies.

In our program we want to ensure owners are getting the most out of our training, so when you place a horse in our program the horse will recieve a full 30 days of riding. Meaning if there are delays in training (weather, personal, ect.) your horse will remain in the program untill they have all 30 days of training. For pricing or any other questions please give us a call at (307)690-7732.

Personal Horses

We want to give everyone a little peak into our program, so that includes a look in our barn at some of our personal horses.

Max- 2010 Gelding. This is another rodeo horse. Max was a bit of a dragon when we got him but has come a long way to working to the top of the list.
Zelda- 2008 Mare. This is one of AJ’s main rodeo horses, and the horse he rode at the BFI. Zelda is super consistent and great in all set ups. She will be one of the mares being bred in our program.
Tazz- 2019 Gelding. Tazz is the sweetest, kindest, and most easy going horse. He is started heading and breakaway. We are super excited for his future!
Rizz- 2011 Mare. This is Braelyn’s breakaway horse but AJ’s has taken a liking to her and heads on her as well. We are very excited to see some of her future babies.
McCoy aka “Mr. Perfect”- 2010 Gelding. McCoy is the main mount for AJ and Braelyn in all roping’s World Series related! But by the name you can guess he is also just Braelyn’s pick everywhere she goes!
